Colombia is considering a ban on international travel to the United States.
The country’s foreign minister said on Friday that he will present a draft law that would impose a travel ban on people from certain countries in the Americas.
“I think it is a step forward,” Foreign Minister Jorge Castillo said in a televised address, referring to the Trump administration’s travel ban.
Castillo also said that the government will work on implementing the legislation and will work with the US government to “address any other potential issues that may arise.”
He said that this measure will be submitted to Congress.
A similar proposal was vetoed by Trump.
